Shelly and Campbell
Shelley and Campbell enjoyed their Vintage Themed wedding at Rondekuil Estates on Saturday, the 26th April 2014. They have been dating for the past 18 months, and originally met each other through their mothers – their mothers are very good friends. On their one year anniversary as a couple, Campbell proposed to Shelly on the jetty of the Cape Point Vineyards, with all their family present. It was a huge surprise for Shelley, and she says it was very romantic as well.

Another lovely wedding at Rondekuil Estates
t was a lovely summer’s day when Tanya Kotze and Paul Van Tonder shared their wedding with 62 of their friends and family at Rondekuil Country Estate on Saturday the 1stof March. A vintage 1931 Ford delivered the radiant bride to our venue on time, and everyone was buzzing with excitement and enthusiasm for this young couple who, without doubt, had eyes only for each other. They met at a club in Durbanville 4 years ago, and plan to stay in Durbanville after their 2 week honeymoon in Struisbaai. Tanya is a specialised Medical Courier, and Paul a whizz at Computer Programming. They share their home with one cat and eight birds. The wedding proposal was apparently something totally different from the norm. Being a computer boffin, Paul developed a special flash animation which he asked Tanya to watch, saying that he needed her opinion on it. She sat down to watch, and then realised that it was actually a wedding proposal from Paul, and promptly burst into tears because she was so overwhelmed, and it was so unexpected.
A piece of film history becomes backdrop for Rondekuil’s wedding photo shoots
Look closely at a few wedding photos taken at our Rondekuil function venue and you’ll notice that most of them will in some way feature this American 1930s style tram. Spot the “Pacific Electric” lettering as couples dreamily lean against the outside panel or pose on the seating inside the small carriage. It makes for a fun backdrop and adds a nostalgic vintage feel to your pictures. However, not many know the story behind this interesting transportation device, and it’s actually a pretty good one…
Rondekuil’s New Venue
A barn located on the “werf” at Rondekuil is currently being converted into a multi-purpose venue. There are wonderful views from the barn: to the north-west is Koeberg Hill covered with vineyards and with lands being grazed by dozens of cattle, while to the south-west one has an iconic view of Table Mountain. Nearby – to the west, framed by extensive gardens and a dam, one can see the two quaint Cape cottages, which Rondekuil hires out as short-term accommodation.
