The Rondekuil Venue

Rondekuil Estate in Cape Town offers a Durbanville function venue with beautiful views of the country side.

The venue comfortably accommodates up to 150 guests with sufficient space left for dancing. The positioning and layout of the tables will be done to your requirements. Round tables, that seat up to 6 to 10 guests, are normally provided.

For smaller functions, a set of attractive screens can be used to screen off an area of the venue, which is not required for the function – this tends to leave the space, being used for the function, more cosy and intimate.

Serving Food

Food is normally served buffet-style and is presented on two, large granite tables on the side of the venue nearest to the kitchen.

Typical menu options can be viewed by clicking on: Menu Selection. Should a client require certain food to be served, which is not included in the standard menu options given below, this may be arranged after consultation with Rondekuil Management.

Cash Bar

A cosy, cash bar is located in one corner of the venue and there are normally up to two friendly and helpful barmen in attendance. If a “tab” is run then a cash deposit is required to cover the cost of drinks ordered by guests

Accommodation at Rondekuil

Comfortable accommodation can be provided at Rondekuil for up to 24 guests at reasonable prices – see accommodation. If a function is booked at Rondekuil over a weekend, we normally require guests to book accommodation for 2 evenings. However, three accommodation units in Rondekuil’s Country Lodge, which is located next to the Rondekuil Venue and that can sleep up to six guests, is available to delegates/guests, attending functions, for one night stays over weekends. Additional accommodation is available in Durbanville at guesthouses, which are a 10 to 12 minute drive from Rondekuil.

Note: (1.) These venue hire prices are negotiable on the bases of availability and length of time to the wedding/function day.

Securing Deposit

A deposit of R5 000 needs to be paid up front in order to secure the hiring of the venue. This deposit is part of the venue hire fee.

The following venue hire discounted prices are applicable from 1 June to 31 August 2018:

41 to 80 guests: R14 000 R12 000 R11 000
81 to 120 guests: R15 000 R13 000 R12 000

Annual Increases

The above venue hire fees are applicable until 30 September 2018 and will increase by about 10 to 15 % on 1 October 2018. The food price increases will be more-or-less in line with the annual inflation in food costs.

The Venue Hire Price Includes:

  • Venue
  • VAT & service charge
  • Tables, chairs and glasses
  • Secure parking for the Guests
  • Bar staff

The Venue Hire Price Excludes:

  • Tables centre pieces and flowers
  • For Self-Catering only: the following are not provided free of charge (also see below): Crockery, cutlery, white linen (including napkins) and serving and cleaning staff
  • Food and beverages
  • Any music requirements such as a DJ or band and sound equipment

Contingency and Breakage Deposit

Refundable deposit required to cover any damages, breakages and contingencies: R2 000

Catering by Rondekuil

We have introduced 3 new menus, which are attached and below are the prices for these menus:
- Silver Menu:  R290/guest
 - Gold Menu:  R320/guest
 - Platinum Menu:  R370/guest
We can also offer a lamb spit braai at about R300/guest - the actual price depends on the number of courses required.
The above prices increase by about 10 to 15 per cent from 1 October 2018 onwards.

The menu options can be viewed by clicking on: Menu Selection. From 1 October each year catering prices will increase by about 10 percent. The above prices include the supply of crockery, cutlery, glassware, white linen (including napkins) and extra staff for serving and cleaning.

We are willing to discuss and provide a quote for any alternative menu you may wish to have served at the reception.

Self- Catering

The cost for self-catering will be R75/guest and entitles you to make use of Rondekuil’s catering facilities (eg crockery, cutlery, glassware, white linen (including napkins), limited use of kitchen equipment etc and a Duty Manager as well as staff for serving and cleaning). When a client undertakes to self-cater, the food needs to be prepared off-site and merely kept hot and served at the Rondekuil Venue.


A wine corkage charge is levied on wine supplied by a client:
Corkage needs to be paid, with other charges, before the wedding.


Within fourteen days after the function, any amount of the tab deposit or the contingency and breakage deposit that remains unused by the end of the function, will be refunded to our client by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).
